Cindy Roberts
Cindy has had a life-long love of the arts, visual and performing. She began her study of painting in 1983 with Cache Valley artist, Kent Wallis and California artist, Rom Villa, also, printmaking with Utah State University Professor, Adrian Van Suchtelen. Until 2000 she spent most of her time promoting others’ work as well as her own, both through the Alliance for the Varied Arts and the Greystone Gallery, the latter which she co-owned glass artist, Shean Jezak. The next ten years she explored surface design, fiber art, and photography. Shortly before retiring, she returned to oils and pastels, being drawn daily by the landscapes before her in the American landscape with its ongoing dance of light and movement. In her travels throughout the U.S. she finds and captures the unique beauty as well as the commonalities in landscapes and of its people. After retiring, Cindy began painting weekly with the Bridgerland Artists. She has studied with nationally known artists, Mary Gilkerson, Alain Picard, and Randy Sexton the past two years. She is studying with Nicholas Wilton this year.
The Artists Gallery will be showing Cindy’s abstract and contemporary work. Her more traditional work can be found at Frank Prince Gallery and Logan Fine Gallery. She participates in several competitions and exhibits at Ogden Eccles Art Center and has shown her work at Alpine Gallery in Salt Lake City.
She just loves learning and the interaction with the challenges of conveying her impressions. This past year she has begun the dance of expressing herself through abstract expressionism.. Sometimes she leads, sometimes she gives into following the lead of her painting. In all, she enjoys the process of bringing a painting into existence. codyskyfinearts.com Instagram: cindyrobertsutah
