Nancy Calderwood
Paint is all I have to catch the wind. It’s how I capture the essence of the breeze, meadow, clouds and trees. Everything I see finds expression dancing off my brush. Through the fleeting sensations that stir both eye and soul my canvas holds the movement of the moment suspended in time and alive with color, energy and emotion.
The first time I painted with oil my senses were on fire. I was instantly immersed in the joy of the process. Since then, the journey of learning and refining the craft has been both challenging and profoundly rewarding. Each painting is a new exploration, an invitation to see more deeply and feel more fully. My life is enriched by observation, the quiet noticing of subtle shifts in light, the elusive dance of shadows and the ever changing moods of nature.
Once, while I was working on a playful mural in an upstairs room a client exclaimed, “You have the best job ever!” I couldn’t agree more. Painting connects me not only to the beauty of the world, but also with something far greater. In every brushstroke, I feel my spirit align with the Divine.
