My name is Janell Amely, a.k.a. Pickles. I melt rods of colorful borosilicate art glass in a the flames of a Bethlehem Bravo torch, that is powered by a salamander eating unicorn fur under my glass bench. Other than that, I am an Honors student at Utah State University in Logan, Utah. I am currently in my last year of work to receive my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, emphasis Sculpture, minor in Art History. A little history: Since graduating from Kearns High school, I have moved 12 times, become a Marine, married a Marine, and been adopted by 3 cats. I have found my passion in sculptural works, small and large, using glass and/or electronics as a main component. I am a card-carrying member of the Maker Movement, and have somehow managed to find my way into assistant managing the coolest lab at USU, the Computational Craft Lab. I am currently completing paperwork to enter concurrently into a graduate program in the Instructional Technology and Learning Sciences at USU, where I have been taking classes and been the teaching assistant for the last 2 years.
